A day around Mt. Fuji

The plan was simple: one slow loop around the mountain, starting before sunrise.

The mountain decides whether you see it or not. For the first two hours it stayed wrapped in cloud, and the lake was the photograph instead.

The loop

Five lakes, one road, no hurry. Stops for coffee, stops for nothing in particular.

By late afternoon the clouds lifted all at once, the way they do. Ten minutes of light, and the whole day was worth it.
