I’ve always enjoyed party games that bring people together, but I kept running into the same problem, someone had to organize everything.
Whether it was writing words on pieces of paper, finding a website, passing around messages, or explaining the rules to new players, the setup often took longer than it should.
One night, while playing the classic “Impostor” game with friends, I thought “This should just be an app.”
A simple app. No accounts. No ads everywhere. No complicated menus.
Just open it, choose the number of players, pass the phone around, and start playing.
So I built Imposter to be the version of the game I wanted to use myself.
- Fast to set up.
- Easy for new players to understand.
- Beautiful and modern.
- Designed for playing together in the same room.
The goal wasn’t to reinvent the game. It was to remove the friction and let people focus on the fun part: bluffing, guessing, arguing, and laughing with friends.
I hope it helps create the same moments that inspired me to build it.
